Sen. Kiko Pangilinan on his expectations from Duterte SONA 2020 this July 27.
DUTERTE SONA 2020 – President Rodrigo Duterte will have his SONA this July 27 and Senator Kiko Pangilinan has this expectation from him.
This year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be on July 27, Monday, and will be held in Batasang Pambansa. SONA serves as the annual reporting of the president delivered to the public regarding the current events of the country.
In a previous report, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque confirmed that the president will physically deliver his speech. This year’s SONA is probably going to be the simplest and the least attended in recent history due to the pandemic. The SONA 2020 is Duterte’s 5th where only a handful Congress members and guests are expected to be present.
And Senator Kiko Pangilinan, among the most controversial icon under the current administration, expressed he’s expecting for the president to tackle about the failed and “pawardi-wardi” responses of the government to the health crisis. He added, “Ano and gagawin niya para maibalik ang trabaho sa milyun-milyon na nawalan ng hanapbuhay at gutom na at walang makain.”
For this year’s nation address, Director Joyce Bernal will be directing the event and a back-up venue was prepared. There will also be no live singing of the national anthem and only 25 solons will be allowed in the plenary. There are also allegations that the congressmen who voted to junk ABS-CBN franchise renewal application are invited to the plenary hall.
Meanwhile, President Duterte will according talk about COVID-19 recovery plan including the effects of the pandemic and how the government will address it in a detailed manner.
