Every day, there are still fresh cases of COVID-19 in the country. The community quarantine measures are still up.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will also be changes in the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The said annual national event usually gathers a lot of people but the Duterte SONA 2020 will be different.
Only a few lawmakers and officials of the President’s Cabinet will be witnessing the SONA live. Pres. Duterte will deliver it physically at Batasang Pambansa on July 27 and it will be aired for the public.
Based on a report on CNN Philippines, Malacañang revealed that the Duterte SONA 2020 will include the COVID-19 recovery plan. According to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, the response of the government to the crisis will be discussed “in much detail”.
Roque said that Pres. Duterte will talk about the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and as well as the actions of the government to address it. Based on the report, it is tagged as the “roadmap to recovery”.
Roque thinks that the economic team has not revealed the roadmap to the recovery of PH from the COVID-19 pandemic as it is set to be discussed during the 5th SONA of Pres. Duterte.
