The most-awaited Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch could be possibly postponed on December 2018 and might be rescheduled next year.
Previously, Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced that he will come out of retirement to fight the Filipino boxer Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao in a rematch.
Mayweather said that his match with Pacquiao would be on December 2018 as the Filipino boxing superstar agrees on the proposal.
Recently, the 41-year-old boxer seems changed his mind and wanted to take a tune-up fight first in Japan before facing Pacman in the ring.
“I know everybody heard about the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, but before the Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch, I will be back in Tokyo for a huge boxing event. Stay tuned,” Mayweather said.
The American boxer’s announcement means that Pacman would search for another opponent for his next match.
Pacquiao said that he does not need a tune-up fight to fight Mayweather and expressed his willingness to fight anytime.
“I’m always available for him. It’s important to [have the rematch], as we have unfinished business. We’ve been waiting for a long time,” Pacquiao said.
