Leni Robredo: Locsin Ask VP To Stop Complaining Over State’s COVID-19 Response

Locsin Ask VP Leni Robredo To Stop Complaining Over State’s COVID-19 Response

LENI ROBREDO – Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin asked Vice President Leni Robredo to ‘stop complaining’ over the state’s COVID-19 response.

After the death of a stranded worker named Michelle Silvertino, Vice President Leni Robredo asked the government to assist the locally stranded individuals (LSI) that are affected by the “general community quarantine” in Metro Manila. Her statement elicited a reaction from Palace spokesman Harry Roque.

He advised her to offer solutions rather than criticizing the government. He said, “I just wish the Vice President could actually offer solutions.”

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes dared the administration to appoint VP Leni Robredo as the chief of COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). He asked if Harry Roque was just turning blind eye to Robredo’s initiative amid the coronavirus crisis.

Meanwhile, Senator Bong Go said the vice president might not work well with the members of the agency because most of them there are “people and secretaries under the President.”

On Thursday, Leni Robredo questioned why the Cebu City government used tanks for pandemic protocols. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed the city back to enhanced community quarantine due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin took to his Twitter account to react to Robredo’s statement. She told the vice president to “stop complaining.” He noted that even the New Zealand government tapped the military to assist in their quarantine measures.

“Please stop complaining. Please. New Zealand has turned to the military as well. It is about getting things done at all and fast without civilian bungling especially those who wear white gowns. Please, please. Tama na ang reklamo,” he wrote.
