Leni Robredo Urge Public To Donate Old Laptops, PC, Smartphones, Tablets For Distance Learning

LENI ROBREDO – Vice President Leni Robredo asked the public to donate their old laptops, smartphones, desktop, or tablets for distance learning.

Almost all of the politicians in the Philippines are doing their best to support the needs of its citizens amid the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. During the lockdown, they provided them with food and money.

Vice President Leni Robredo is among the politicians who are stepping up to help fight the deadly virus. She and her team did some initiatives to provide the daily needs of the frontliners and families affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Leni Robredo teamed up with the Filipino designer Mich Dulce to produce more personal protective equipment (PPE) for the healthcare workers. She also provided shuttle services to the COVID-19 frontliners and volunteers.

On her 55th birthday, she announced that they have raised P55 million for the country’s coronavirus fight. She also shared a photo of her birthday cake.

Robredo urged the public to donate their old but functioning gadgets like desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones to help the students who couldn’t afford to buy these devices for their distance learning. She announced it on the ‘Office of Vice President’s’ Facebook page. Her new initiative will surely help the students and educators in poor communities.

“Mayroon ba kayong smartphones, tablet computers, laptop o desktop computers na hindi niyo na ginagamit? Inaanyayahan namin kayo na tipunin ang mga ito para sa inisiyatibong ating ilulunsad, sa paglalayong makatulong sa napipintong pagpapatupad ng distance learning sa gitna ng COVID-19 crisis,” she said.

Previously, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that he won’t allow face-to-face classes without a vaccine for the coronavirus. In a previous article, Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones announced that they will conform to Duterte’s directives.
