COVID test kits will arrive this weekend according to health chief.
COVID TEST KITS – Around 125,000 Coronavirus Disease 2019 test kits will be arriving this weekend in the country from South Korea and China.
The top essential thing that our country needs right now amid this pandemic health crisis is the test kits. This is basically the device used to test persons to determine if he is positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
And this weekend, around 125,000 test kits for the novel coronavirus will be arriving in the Philipines: 25,000 from South Korea and 100,000 from China. Those from China are donations, however, kits from South Korea were not clarified if those were bought or donated as well. The kits are intended for for the elderly and patients showing the symptoms.
“Tinututukan ko na iyong Bureau of Customs at FDA (Food and Drug Administration) ay bilisan ang release kasi nga iyon ang number one nating kakulangan,” Health Secretary Francisco Duque said as per ABS-CBN. The test kits will arrive at 5 A.M. tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 kits by the University of the Philippines would be available in two to three weeks. As of Thursday, the country have 217 confirmed cases already, 17 deaths, and 8 people who have fortunately recovered from it.
The entire Luzon was put under lockdown where everyone under home quarantine, banned public transport, and shutting of some companies and adopt work from home scheme except medical personnel, journalists, government officials, and essential service providers. These are all made to contain the spread of the virus which continues to infect more people in a terrifying pace.
