Jeric Gonzales was asked to share his thoughts on the relationship between Rabiya Mateo and Jake Cuenca
The relationship between Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo and Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca received a comment from Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales.
Jeric is Rabiya’s ex-boyfriend. They broke up last year, and this came after the second chance they found following a short split.
Rumors of reconciliation were stopped by Rabiya’s sighting with Jake early this year. Based on the article in PEP, Jeric confirmed that he and Rabiya broke up in January 2025.
The Kapuso actor also clarified that there was no “sulian ng gamit” that happened, but he stressed that he and Rabiya Mateo stopped communicating with each other.
When asked what he felt about his ex-girlfriend’s new relationship with Jake Cuenca, Jeric Gonzales said, “At first, honestly, I don’t know what to feel kasi parang awkward na your ex, nagkaroon na ng bago. Ganoon yata siguro talaga yung feeling, pero I realized na I should be happy for her.”
The Kapuso actor, on the other hand, said that it was a good end for him and Rabiya. The friendship between them is still there, and they can still reach out to each other if they need help.
Meanwhile, Jeric denied the rumors that he has a romantic relationship with Sucil Nipa, a pawnshop owner, who is also the producer of his new movie. It was rumored that he calls her “Madam.”
“Ngayon lang ako magsasalita, pero it’s not true. Yung producer namin, si Madam, is a family person and a very private person. She’s my producer. Professional lang po, ganoon lang,” the ex-boyfriend of Rabiya Mateo shared.
Jeric added that it just so happened that they were together in a video and people misinterpreted it. They were singing in the video and the producer hugged him out of amusement.
