PAGASA Says LPA to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Condition Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area will bring cloudy and rainy weather condition over some parts of the country.

On Friday (April 8, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure areas has been last spotted 350 kilometers east-northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). The LPA and ITCZ will be affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

The two weather systems will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Quezon.

The northeasterly surface windflow will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Aurora.

The northeasterly surface windflow will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Abra, and Benguet.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern Luzon, the rest of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have a moderate surrounding sea condition.

PAGASA also monitors a tropical depression located at 2,270 kilometers east of Mindanao outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It has a maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
