Lady Netizen Shares Close Call w/ Alleged GCash Cash-Out Scammer
A female netizen shared her experience after nearly becoming a victim of a scammer who was attempting to make a GCash cash-out transaction.
Recently, Marjorie Cariaga, a Facebook user, shared a video of the alleged scammer who almost deceived her. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from members of the online community.
According to Marjorie, the man approached her to cash out money from his GCash account. As part of the process, she waited for the payment notification before handing over the cash.

However, despite the man showing what appeared to be a transaction record, no payment was reflected in their GCash account.
She became suspicious when the supposed transaction could not be verified. It was later discovered that the proof of payment being shown may have been altered or edited. Instead of waiting for the transaction to be confirmed, the man reportedly suggested that he would just return later.
Fortunately, Marjorie did not release any cash because the payment had not yet appeared in her account. Her caution helped prevent what could have been a loss.
After the incident, she decided to share her experience online to remind others to be extra careful when handling GCash cash-out requests. She advised fellow users and business owners not to hand over cash unless the transaction is already visible and confirmed in their accounts.
Many shared their own experiences and encouraged others to double-check every transaction before completing any exchange of money. A few extra seconds of checking can help prevent losses and protect people from becoming victims of fraud.
