PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (April 7)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a Low Pressure Area and ITCZ will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (April 7, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and ITCZ will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the tropical depression has been last spotted at 2,435 kilometers east of Mindanao. It has a maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometer per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph moving 10 kph at a west northwest direction.

The tropical depression may enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday next week. “Nakikita po natin ang posibilidad na papasok ito sa ating Philippine area of responsibility, maaari po ‘yan by Monday,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

Another LPA embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) has been spotted at 130 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The northeasterly surface windflow will also bring rainy condition over most parts of the country.

The LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mimaropa Bicol regions, Quezon province, entire Visayas, and Mindanao.

The northeasterly surface windflow will bring cloudy condition with rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Aurora. It would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with light rains over Ilocos Region, Abra, and Benguet.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, rest of Luzon and Visayas as well as Mindanao will be moderate to rough.
