Number of Missing Sabungeros Increases to 20, According to PNP

MISSING SABUNGEROS – The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the number of missing sabungeros has increased to 20.

Previously, ten individuals have been reported missing after heading to various cockpit arenas to participate in cockfights. The missing individuals have been recorded in Laguna and Manila earlier this month.

On January 13, 2022, four male friends reportedly gone missing after going to a cockpit arena in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. The victims could not be contacted for a couple of weeks.

The four has been last spotted on their vehicle while leaving the coliseum. A CCTV from a grocery in Laguna caught the vehicle heading to Manila.

On January 14, six individuals went missing after joining a cockfight at Manila arena in Sta. Ana, Manila. One of the relatives of the missing men received a report that their relative has been taken to a white van.

The police authorities continue to investigate the incident and trying to find out the reason for the disappearance of sabungeros.

Missing Sabungeros

On Friday (January 28, 2022), PNP reported that 10 more cockfight enthusiasts from Bulacan went missing. The additional missing personalities have been added to the 10 missing people in Laguna and Manila.

The police authorities strengthened the investigation regarding the incident.

“The plot thickens when ten men from Bulacan who were engaged in a cockfight are added to the list of missing individuals. Their kin said that it has been more than eight months now since their disappearance,” PNP said.

PNP chief Police General Dionardo Carlos cited a pattern regarding the incident and suspecting that there is a syndicate behind the disappearance of sabungeros.
