Mayor Isko Moreno Reveals Political Plans
MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila City Mayor spoke on what will happen next if he wins or loses in the 2022 presidential election.
Prior to winning the mayoralty race in Manila, Mayor Isko has also tried seeking a seat in the Senate. However, he lost in the Election 2016. During the 2019 midterm poll, he defeated former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada in the mayoralty race in Manila.
Mayor Isko is one of the consistent names in the surveys for possible presidential candidates in 2022 which were conducted way ahead of the filing of the candidacy period. Then, he maintained his stand that his focus is on the pandemic while assuring that he will run in the next election without confirming the position.
Mayor Isko is vocal about his plans in case he will win the presidency in 2022. He previously spoke about cutting the taxes on electricity and oil if he becomes president. He also spoke about his desire to change the lifestyle of the Filipinos to a healthier lifestyle like the Koreans. He also wants to boost the economy of Visayas.
Recently, Mayor Isko Moreno spoke about his plan after, in case, he will win the 2022 presidential election. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Manila Mayor plans to retire from politics after his term in case he wins president next year. He stressed that he has been working since he was 10 years old and it would be better to retire so he is still physically well by then and can enjoy life. He will be 52 years old by then.
Based on the report, the Manila Mayor also spoke on what will happen next if he loses in the Election 2022. According to him, it is just like breaking up with a partner – moving forward after it.
“Para ka lang syota niyan, nagkahiwalay kayo. Let’s move foward, pahinga na rin,” he said.
