LTFRB Caught Fake LTO Employees Apprehending Motorists to Extort Money
LTFRB caught fake LTO employees apprehending the vehicle drivers and motorists along the road, the suspects have been arrested.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board caught six individuals who were pretending to be members of flying squad of the Land Transportation Office in Tarlac. The suspects were wearing suspicious uniforms.
Tarlac’s Victoria Police Station Chief Police Major Randy Gomez said that the officials of LTFRB passed along La Paz-Victoria Road and caught the suspects apprehending motorists with the aim to extort money from them.
“Nadaanan po nila (LTFRB) itong grupo po na nagpapangagap na ‘Flying Squad’ ng LTO dito sa kahabaan ng La Paz-Victoria Road na kung saan kahina-hina yung kanilang suot na uniporme at ID, nag-create na ng traffic,” Gomez said.
The LTFRB personnel asked the culprits to present documents and mission order but they failed to do so. The officials immediately brought the six individuals to the police station for legal actions.

According to Gomez, three truck drivers went to the police station and reported the suspects pretending as LTO officers to extort money.
Meanwhile, LTO-Region 3 refused to give statement regarding the incident. The suspects are now facing corresponding sanctions and penalties for their actions.
