Sen. Robin Padilla Reacts To VP Sara Duterte Impeachment Hearing
ROBIN PADILLA – The Duterte-known ally Senator reacted to the impeachment proceedings of Vice President Sara Duterte.
One of the members of the so-called Duterte bloc in the Senate is Sen. Padilla. Together with Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, they have previously reiterated their loyalty to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Sen. Padilla even admitted before that he’s against the impeachment of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to him, he even prefers that the sitting Senate president in case the impeachment complaints against the Vice President reaches the Senate to be a pro-Duterte.
Amid the Duterte camp questioning the constitutionality of the impeachment proceedings of the House Committee on Justice, Sen. Robin Padilla chided the government officials who are pushing for the impeachment process. According to him, the trial should take place at the Senate.
Padilla has always been vocal about his gratitude to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for pardoning him. Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government, he is vocal about his support and loyalty to the Dutertes.
Recently, following the impeachment hearing of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the House of Representatives, Sen. Robin Padilla said that politics are everyhere. Based on News5, he claimed that it is only in the country.
“Politika there. Politika here. Politika everywhere! Only in the Philippines!” the Senator said based on the post.
Two (2) impeachment complaints filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte were found sufficient in form, substance, and grounds. The House Justice panel held its second impeachment hearing today.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte skipped the first and second impeachment hearing set by the House panel. The Duterte camp questions the constitutionality of the impeachment proceedings. Today, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyer appeared before the House for the impeachment hearing.
