In an interview, actress-entrepreneur KC Concepcion opened up about her honest reflections regarding growing up as the in-between of two families. It’s a unique place that provided her a journey shaped by love, acceptance, and emotional complexity.

In a candid interview, KC admitted that while navigating relationships between both sides of her family, there had been some difficulties. While each connection is meaningful, both are complicated in their own way.
KC revealed that one of her biggest realizations was accepting her unique place within this setup. She’s in a place where she belongs in a blended family, but not everyone is in it. She is welcomed on both sides, but she feels she doesn’t fully belong to either side, describing it as having “blurred lines.”
“I don’t feel that I 1,000 percent belong to either family. There will always be blurred lines. But when I accepted the reality of my position and the reality of the setup, it’s like, how [it’s like] structured, naintindihan ko na yung side din ng stepparents ko na, ‘Oh my God, tao lang din sila. Ang hirap din ha na may ako. And may opinyon lahat ng tao,'” she said.
Over time, with the maturity that came from her experiences, she was able to love her place and realized that it’s actually beautiful there. She learned that acceptance is key. Instead of focusing on where she fits, KC said she chose to embrace her situation and understand the perspectives of her parents and stepparents.
This kind of transition in her perspective helped her a lot in letting go of lingering resentment and moving forward with empathy. She said, “I love this unique position I’ve been placed in, and I hope I make it right. Why, kung bakit ako ang nilagay dito, I hope I crack the code.”
