Michael De Mesa Receives Death Threat Over Role In "Ang Probinsyano"

A death threat was sent to actor Michael De Mesa due to his antagonistic role in “Ang Probinsyano”.

MICHAEL DE MESA – Multi-awarded actor Michael De Mesa reveals death threat received from a fan due to the role he portrays in hit TV series “Ang Probinsyano”.

Ang Probinsyano and other ABS-CBN shows are currently airing on TV5 after signing a block time deal with the other network. It is top-billed by Kapamilya actor Coco Martin and has been airing for over 5 years already which makes it the television’s longest-running action-drama TV series. The partnership was made possible when the Kapamilya network was shutdown.

There were rumors previously that it will be ending this April but the ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Kane Choa said in a statement that this is not true. An insider revealed that they are yet to work on their 7th cycle and the 7th cycle is accordingly not the final one.

Aside from Coco’s role, other artists also marked iconic roles and one of whom is Michael De Mesa. He is a multi-awarded actor and with how he portrayed his character as “Manager” in the series, someone got really affected to the point that he sent him a death threat. The veteran actor posted, “Ganun ba ako ka effective? 😆 Bro, teleserye lang yan. Wag masyadong seryoso. Positive vibes lang. Hahaha! 😊”

In a message, the said fan threatened the actor that he will be the one to end him once he sees him personally. The fan expressed his apologies later on explaining that he only got carried away with his anger over the flow of the series’ storyline. His emotions went overboard watching as to how bad his character was towards the main character.

On Instagram, De Mesa wrote, “Guys, nag sorry na siya! Thank you for having my back. Let this be a teachable moment for all of us. To be careful of what we say to each other online and in person. Basta good vibes lang tayo! ❤️”

De Mesa is playing the role of Ramil “Manager” Taduran who is Cardo Dalisay’s co-member in the group Vendetta. In his post, famous personalities like Lea Salonga, Dennis Trillo, Lorna Tolentino, Almira Muhlach, Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, and Franco Laurel reacted telling him to take care and commending his effectivity as an actor.
