Kapamilya programs such as Ang Probinsyano and others can now be seen on TV5 starting March 8.
ANG PROBINSYANO – Some of the primetime programs of ABS-CBN will be on air once again through TV5 starting March 8, Monday.
Media giant ABS-CBN Corporation and its former rival TV5 network announced a partnership as programs, such as “ASAP Natin ‘To” and “FPJ: Da King”, are now aired in Kapatid network which started last January 24. The said partnership is accordingly beneficial to both parties as the Kapamilya network will have a “wider free-TV reach nationwide” while TV5 will become an extended home for Kapamilya artists.
And to further strengthen the relationship between the two networks, TV5 just recently announced that they will be airing more programs of Kapamilya network. In their statement, primetime shows such as Ang Probinsyano, Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, Walang Hanggang Paalam, and Pinoy Big Brother Connect, are back on free TV starting March 8, Monday.
An official statement from Cignal and TV5 President and CEO Robert P. Galang said: “We welcome the inclusion of ABS-CBN entertainment shows in our roster of programs. We believe that this content deal will benefit Filipino viewers across the country because of TV5’s extensive coverage.”
On the other hand, contrary to rumors, Ang Probinsyano will not be ending anytime soon. This long-running action-drama TV series top-billed by Kapamilya actor Coco Martin has been on television for over 5 years. This is already dubbed as the longest action-drama in history.
And the content deal between TV5 and ABS-CBN network is due to the apparent shutdown of the latter.
