List of GCQ Areas Until August 15 Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic Affecting PH
LIST OF GCQ AREAS – Here is a list of the areas under a General Community Quarantine until August 15 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Philippines is still on a fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. This disease rocked the healthcare system of over 200 countries and territories across the globe.
The said disease was first recorded in China. Last December 2019, it infected people in Wuhan City and the infection spread fast prompting the authorities to lock the city.
Wuhan City was under a lockdown for more than two (2) months. However, several other nations recorded cases of this coronavirus disease.
In PH, there is now a total of 89,374 cases of COVID-19 recorded. The Department of Health (DOH) recently recorded the highest daily count so far at 3,954.
The Health Department recorded 1,983 deaths due to COVID-19. Recently, a massive recoveries of 38,075 was recorded by DOH bringing the total recoveries to 65,064.

Recently, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte decided on the new community quarantine measures to be implemented until August 15. There are still areas that will be under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Metro Manila is on the list of GCQ areas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is despite the recent increase on the coronavirus cases.
Also, Cebu is under a GCQ now until August 15 from a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). Based on the report, here is a full list of GCQ areas until August 15 due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
- Metro Manila
- Cebu City
- Batangas
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Rizal
- Lapu-Lapu City
- Mandaue City
- Talisay City
- Minglanilla at Consolation (Cebu)
- Zamboanga City
