PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar Undergoes COVID-19 Testing After Staffers Tested Positive

PCOO SECRETARY MARTIN ANDANAR – The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Head announced the result of his COVID-19 test.

Undeniably, the COVID-19 is one huge fight. Across the globe, more than 500,000 people lost their lives due to this coronavirus disease that was first recorded in China last December 2019.

Over 200 nations and territories are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, even countries with no cases of the disease must implement protocols to prevent its entry.

According to the World Health Organization, the fight against COVID-19 may be a long-term battle. WHO was alarmed by how fast the disease spreads.

The Philippines is one of the countries that are battling the COVID-19 pandemic now. According to the Department of Health (DOH), 76,444 cases of the disease were recorded with 1,879 deaths and 24,502 recoveries.

Several government agencies have suspended work after their employees contracted COVID-19. Currently, the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) has also suspended physical work after some PCOO employees tested positive for COVID-19.

PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar also underwent COVID-19 testing. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he announced today that he is negative for coronavirus.

It was last Thursday when PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar tested for COVID-19. According to the report, the staffers of the Communications Office are among the Malacañang employees who contracted the disease with two (2) of them working at the Broadcast Office.

According to Andanar, the PCOO will follow the health protocols including the “intensified contact tracing” to curb the spread of the disease. They are also on for intensified testing.
