VICE GANDA – In short history quiz in “Its Showtime”, host Vice Ganda has this answer when asked something about China.
In a previous article, what has reached the news headlines online and received various opinions from the public is the report from ABS-CBN broadcaster Chiara Zambrano about how aggressive the boats Chine become when they tried to go to Ayungin Shoal. A white ship of the Chinese Coast Guard and two Type 022 Houbei fast attack crafts came into them and chased them and only stopped when they neared Palawan to which to some people is clear harassment within our waters from the foreigner.

There were hundreds of Chinese vessels currently scattered in the West Philippine Sea. Following the issued this created, the Philippines sent four of its most advanced warships to the West Philippine Sea at Julian Felipe Reef, where there are increasing Chinese activities. The United States Of America also interfered in the fiasco noting the “additional affirmation of the long-standing partnership between the two countries”. This in line with the Mutual Defense Treaty signed in 1951 where the two countries committed to help each other in the event of an armed attack.
And just recently, in speaking of the issue about the dispute, Vice Ganda made a joke out of it. The host initiated a history quiz in the show where one question that was asked is “Who discovered China?” In a fast thinking, Vice answered, “Chiara Zambrano” referring to recent incident. She added, “Si Chiara Zambrano ang naka-discover na ang China pala ay malapit na sa Palawan! Na sa Juan Felipe Reef na pala! Sila ang nakakita.”
She then followed another joke about the eight rays of the sun in the Philippine flag which might be down to seven (7) now because the Chinese already have one. Vice expressed teasingly, “Baka kinuha na naman ng China ‘yung isa, pito na lang ngayon. Dati kasi walo, pero hindi natin alam, baka nahiram na naman ng China.”
