Palace Confirms Scheduled Visit of Marcos Jr. to Robredo in Naga
MARCOS JR. – The President is set to meet with former Vice President and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo in her city for the “Oplan Kontra Baha”.
Malacañang claimed that the presidential bet of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for 2028 and the possible coalitions with his party have yet to be discussed. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the President is busy with the preparation for ASEAN and discussing with his economic team for the country’s growth.

The statement of the Palace came after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced that she will run for president in the 2028 Elections. According to Duterte, she has reflected that her life is not meant to be lived for herself alone despite her hesitance towards the weight of the responsibility.
Following Duterte’s remarks, Atty. Claire Castro stressed that a politician allegedly thinks of the next election while a stateman thinks of the next generation. The Palace official also confirmed that Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to meet former Vice President and now Naga Mayor Leni Robredo in his city.

Marcos Jr. and Robredo were rivals in the 2022 Elections. He had a victorious tandem with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte but their ties had a falling out in 2024. She resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) and also left the Marcos Jr. Cabinet.
According to News5, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro confirmed that Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo are set to meet on Saturday, February 21. The Palace official revealed that it is over the program against flooding in the city.

Castro further stressed that the President is set to inspect the cleaning of drainages, canal, and rivers in Naga City. Based on the post, when asked if Marcos Jr. and Robredo are set to talk about something, the Palace official left a cryptic response:
“‘Yan ang abangan n’yo,” the Malacañang Usec. said.

Previously, Mamamayang Liberal Party-List Representative Leila de Lima confirmed that she’s hoping that Naga Mayor Leni Robredo will run for president in 2028. The members of the opposition have recently met over lunch and it ignited the calls for Robredo to once again take the presidential race in the next national polls.
Robredo is vocal that she is happy with being in the local government. She is currently occupying the post that was once held by her late husband, former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.
