Palace Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ Presidential Bet after VP Sara Duterte Announces Bid
BONGBONG MARCOS – Malacañang claimed that the President has yet to discuss his presidential bet and the possible coalitions in 2028.
Despite facing four (4) impeach raps now after another impeachment complaint was recently filed against Vice President Sara Duterte, the Vice President has announced her plan to seek the presidency in 2028. She claimed that she had a reflection that her life is no longer solely her own, admitting that she has long grappled with the heavy obligations that come with leading the nation.

Duterte further alleged that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly failed to stay true to his promises to the people. She explained that her decision to resign from the Marcos Jr. Cabinet was deliberate despite knowing that it could trigger impeachment proceedings against her.
The Vice President also recently reiterated her apology to the Filipino people for backing Marcos during the 2022 elections. The BBM-Sara tandem which presented a platform of unity secured the support of millions of Filipinos.

After Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced her presidential bid for 2028, several government officials have commented on her announcement. Minority Senator Robin Padilla even pushed for the Sara-Imee tandem. Presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos has aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government.

Recently, Malacañang spoke on Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the administration after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced her intention to run for president in 2028. Based on a report on GMA News, Palace press official undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that politics is still not part of the agenda during the meetings of the admin.
“Sa totoo lang kapag nakakasama natin ang Pangulo sa pagme-meeting, hindi po talaga napag-uusapan sa ngayon ang politika patungkol dyan,” the Malacañang Official said.

Atty. Claire Castro claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is currently busy with the preparations for the ASEAN. Also, based on the report, the Malacañang press officer claimed that the President is talking with his economic team for the progress of the country.
“If you’re a politician, you will think of the next election. But if you are a statesman, you will think of the next generation. So, yung mga nag-iisip ngayon ng politika, ang aga-aga, alam mo na ang nasa dibdib, para i-angat ang sarili, i-promote agad ang sarili. Hindi iniisip na i-promote ang bansa,” Castro said.
