Sara Duterte unraveled her political plan
Vice President Sara Duterte declared in a recent press conference that she will run for president in the 2028 elections.
VP Sara’s political career is set to have its climax in the next elections. She started in the local government unit, and just like her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, she also served as the mayor of Davao City for several years.
After holding the mayoralty position, she opted to be the running mate of President Bongbong Marcos in the 2022 elections, in which they both won. However, in recent years, their Uniteam shattered as issues surfaced between them.
On Wednesday, February 18, Vice President Sara Duterte held a press conference. In her prepared speech, she mentioned the Bible verse Proverbs 19:21, which says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
VP Sara said that it took her 47 years to understand that her life was not meant to be just her’s. For a long time, she questioned the weight of responsibilities that she had.
Then, she stressed that a few months after assuming the position that she has now, she already saw the unfaithfulness in President Bongbong Marcos when it came to his promises that he said during the campaign.
The Vice President also said that she chose to leave the Cabinet even though she knew that this would result in actions for her impeachment. She also apologized to the public.
“Patawad kung tinulungan kong mahalal si BBM bilang pangulo ng ating bansa,” she said. The female politician also apologized for the current predicaments that many Filipinos are still going through right now.
She also said that she was never afraid of the efforts to tarnish her name, but she felt fear for the children and the next generation. Then, she expressed that she can’t kneel in front of every Filipino to beg for forgiveness; instead, she is offering her life, her strength, and her future in the service of the nation.
“Ako si Sara Duterte, tatakbo bilang pangulo ng Pilipinas,” the Vice President declared.
