ABS-CBN show It’s Showtime releases statement following the suspension from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
On Monday, September 4, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) released a decision suspending the airing of It’s Showtime for 12 days. This is following the incident that happened in June.
MTRCB suspended Showtime because of the alleged indecent act committed by hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.
Several violations and multiple complaints have led to the suspension of the show. This issue became a much-talked-about topic online. Many people aired their opinions about this.
Following the suspension announcement, the Kapamilya show released a statement regarding the matter.
In the statement issued, the show confirmed receiving the ruling from the MTRCB. It expressed that they are aware of the decision but stress that they will submit a Motion for Reconsideration.
The show “humbly maintains” that they have not violated pertinent law.
“We are also committed to working with the MTRCB to ensure that ‘It’s Showtime’ can continue to bring joy and entertainment to our noontime viewers,” says the statement and added that they are “truly grateful” to the madlang people for their unwavering love and support for the Kapamilya show.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 1986 (MTRCB Charter), the Motion for Reconsideration (MR) must be filed by the respondents within 15 days after the decision has been issued. If the Board’s Decision gives an unfavorable decision to the MR, the respondents may appeal to the Office of the President within 15 days after the decision has been made.
