PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (August 12)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that fair weather condition is expected nationwide as the southwest monsoon weakens.

On Friday (August 12, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. the southwest monsoon continues to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon but it will no longer directly affect the Philippine land mass.

The southwest monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

However, most parts of the archipelago will experience good and fair weather conditions as habagat weakens.

“Makakaranas po tayo ng magandang panahon, kaya po dito sa Maynila at buong bansa ay fair weather ang inaasahan natin. Bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap ang mga kalangitan, and yung mga ulan na mararanasan ay isolated rain showers lamang po, mga isolated rain showers and thunderstorms especially ‘pag hapon at gabi,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.

The weather agency has also warned the residents in the affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
