PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (August 8)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rainshowers over some parts of the country.

On Monday (August 8, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will be affecting Central and Southern Luzon. “Sa araw na ito, may inaasahan pa rin tayong pag-ulan dulot ng southwest monsoon o habagat,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said

The Habagat/Localized Thunderstorms will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers & thunderstorms over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa will experience similar weather condition.

“Ang southwest monsoon o habagat ay nakakaapekto sa Central Luzon at sa Southern Luzon,” Aurelio added.

The Southwest Monsoon/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya.

The entire Visayas as well as the remaining parts of the country will have the same weather condition.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western section of Luzon will be moderate to rough while the rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
