Class Suspensions Declared on Thursday (July 9, 2026) Due to Super Typhoon Inday
WALANG PASOK – Some local government units declared class suspension in various parts of the country due to Super Typhoon Inday.
On Thursday (July 9, 2026), Super Typhoon Inday continues to pose a threat to different parts of the country. It will still bring heavy rain and strong winds to the affected areas.
Inday was last located 1,170 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, packing maximum wind speed of 195 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 240 kph.

Various LGUs ordered the suspension of classes. The decision was made to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel amid the possibility of strong winds, heavy rainfall, and other weather-related hazards brought by the typhoon.

- Aurora (July 9–10)
- Barbaza, Antique (until July 10)
- Banga, South Cotabato
- Binalbagan, Negros Occidental (July 9–10)
- Culion, Palawan (including school personnel)
- Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental
- Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental
- Las Piñas City
- Maguindanao del Sur
Alternative Learning / No Face-to-Face Classes
- San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan (all levels)
- Negros Oriental (all levels)
- La Carlota City, Negros Occidental (all levels)
Limited-Level Suspensions
- Bago City, Negros Occidental (Kindergarten to Senior High School)
- Cotabato City (Preschool to Senior High School)
As the typhoon moves closer, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) placed several provinces under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1. These include parts of Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga, Isabela, Aurora, Catanduanes, Quirino, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Mountain Province, and Abra.
Local officials continue to monitor weather conditions closely and may issue additional announcements if necessary. Residents are encouraged to stay updated through official advisories and prioritize safety as Super Typhoon Inday affects parts of the country.
