Students at Quezon NHS in Palawan Not Allowed to Attend Classes Due to Lack of Black Shoes

Several students at Quezon National High School were allegedly not allowed to attend classes for not wearing black shoes.

Recently, a discussion has circulated online after reports surfaced that several students at Quezon National High School (QNHS) in Quezon, Palawan were allegedly not allowed to enter the school because they were not wearing black shoes.

Students, parents, and other netizens including expressed concern over what they described as the strict enforcement of school rules, particularly those involving uniforms, footwear, and grooming standards.

Black Shoes

Some parents and students pointed out that many families in their community face financial challenges and often prioritize daily necessities such as food and household expenses. Because of this, they believe that purchasing specific school items, including black shoes, may not always be possible right away.

Before the complaints spread online, QNHS had already released an official announcement regarding the stricter implementation of its school policies.

The notice, which took effect on July 6, 2026, reminded students to comply with rules on proper haircuts, hair color, wearing of student IDs, complete school uniforms, appropriate pants, shoes, and other dress code requirements.

Male students were also reminded to follow regulations regarding accessories and personal appearance.

According to the school administration, stricter enforcement aims to promote discipline, unity, and a positive learning environment within the campus. School officials believe that following these standards helps create a more organized and focused atmosphere for students.
