PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (August 11, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting the western section of Central Luzon. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bataan, Zambales, and Kalayaan Islands.

The rest of Palawan, Occidental Mindoro and whole Visayas will experience similar weather condition.

“Ngayong araw po, asahan ang mostly cloudy skies ngayong umaga pa lamang, dito po sa bahagi ni Northern and Central Luzon, ganoon din sa Metro Manila, Calabarzon, gayundin sa Mindoro provinces, at Marinduque. Habang as early as this morning, mataas ang tsansa ng ulan dito sa Zambales, Bataan at dito sa Kalayaan islands, dulot po yan sa southwest monsoon o habagat” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The Southwest Monsoon / Localized Thunderstorms is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Similar weather conditions are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has also advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over western section of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
