Vice Ganda was told that he looks like a “manika”
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda revealed that he refused a statue in Startista Gallery in Star City.
The amusement park added a new attraction just recently. It featured hyperrealistic resin statues of Filipino icons. This was launched on June 19, and the exhibit showcased lifelike figures of several celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry, as well as in the fields of sports.
Among the celebrities who were featured with their statues were ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, celebrity couple Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, billiards legend Efren “Bata” Reyes, actor-comedian Michael V., actresses Angel Aquino, Rhian Ramos, Rica Peralejo, Ara Mina, Maui Taylor, Diana Zubiri, Gladys Reyes, Bea Binene and Ashtine Olviga, and actor Wilbert Ross.
However, the statue of Concert Queen Pops Fernandez became controversial. It was because netizens said that the face of the statue was not flattering at all.
In a recent episode of the Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime, based on the article in Abante, Vice Ganda revealed that he was offered to have his own statue also in the Startista Gallery.
During the “Miss Q & A” segment, a contestant said to Vice, “Actually, Meme, I’m starstrucked. Para akong nasa Madame Tussauds. Mukha kang manika… legit ha!”
Madame Tussauds is a wax museum founded in London in 1835, showcasing lifelike figures of celebrities and historical figures.
“‘Di ba, wax-wax ‘yon? (‘Yung) Madame Tussauds… mukha akong Madame Tussauds… hindi ako kamukha no’ng nasa Star City, ha?! Ayoko no’n!” Vice answered.
Then, the Kapamilya comedian-host revealed that his co-hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario were offered also to have their statues. Vice said, “Oh, ‘di ba nagpapasalamat kayo sa akin na hindi ako tumuloy?!”
Vhong and Jhong decided not to push through with this as Vice Ganda refused to be part of the gallery. Then, the Unkabogable Star jokingly said that if his two co-host said yes to the offer, they could have been a trending topic as well, because there were figures who did not display the exact faces of the celebrities.
