Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about Earthquake Today August 6, 2022 in Occidental Mindoro
EARTHQUAKE TODAY AUGUST 6, 2022 – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.5 magnitude earthquake in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking was felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“. But the agency advises the people to wait for factual information and not to panic.
Recently, a quake hit a part of Occidental Mindoro, August 6, 2022. At 01:00 a.m., San Jose was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake today August 6, 2022 that hit a part of Occidental Mindoro was located at 11.96°North, 120.73°East – 055 km South 40° West of San Jose with a depth of origin of 010 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake but there may be aftershocks. The agency stated that no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake and as well as the nearby areas. An instrumental intensity I was recorded in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
