Korina Sanchez Reveals the Truth About Her Political Ambitions
KORINA SANCHEZ – The veteran journalist and television host has revealed that she has considered entering politics for many years, despite previously denying any plans to run for public office.
Speaking at the TARA KAPATID 2026 Midyear Media and Trade Celebration, she said the idea has been with her for a long time, but circumstances have repeatedly prevented her from pursuing it. Although many people continue to encourage her to run, she said she has not made any decision and wants to carefully assess the situation first.
Korina also shared that her husband, former Interior Secretary and senator Mar Roxas, no longer plans to seek any elected position in the 2028 elections. She said he has lost interest in returning to politics and even ruled out the possibility of another presidential campaign. Instead, Mar prefers to continue serving the public without holding government office, choosing other ways to contribute to society.
She also talked about the new direction of her daily talk show, Face-to-Face with Ate Koring. According to Korina, the program now focuses less on heated arguments and confrontations and instead highlights more positive and meaningful stories. The show features inspiring children, celebrity lifestyles, and trending topics that provide entertainment while offering useful and interesting discussions for viewers. She added that her co-hosts have played an important role in making the program more enjoyable.
Aside from Face-to-Face with Ate Koring, Korina currently hosts several television programs covering news, public affairs, magazine features, and interviews. When asked if she worries about appearing too often on television, she said she does not believe overexposure is a problem. She explained that each of her shows has a different format and audience, allowing her to showcase different skills. Korina believes that as long as viewers appreciate the content and quality of a program, they will continue to support it regardless of how many shows a host appears in.
