PAGASA Says ITCZ & Frontal System to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the frontal system and ITCZ will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (June 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. The frontal system and the Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Frontal System will be affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao. The Localized thunderstorms will affect the rest of Luzon.

The frontal system will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over Batanes and Babuyan Islands

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet.

Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the countrywill experience similar weather condition.

Calmer weather condition is expected over some parts of the country except for chances of rain during afternoon and evening, according to Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran said.

The weather bureau warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather agency.
