PAGASA Says HPA to Bring Generally Fair Weather Over PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that fair weather condition will prevail across the country due to the ridge of high pressure area.

On Wednesday (June 8, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ridge of high pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) will be extending over the eastern section of Luzon. It would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet.

Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Group of Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have the same weather condition.

Generally fair weather conditions are expected over most parts of the country.“Ngayong araw, ine-expect pa rin natin ‘yong maaliwalas or generally fair weather conditions,” PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The weather agency warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition western and northern sections of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
