Police Arrests 2 Suspects for Stealing Motorcycle in Manila
MANILA – The police authorities arrested two male suspects at a checkpoint in Manila for stealing a motorcycle.
MPD Station 3 conduct a checkpoint along Yuseco St. and Oroquieta St. at Barangay 346 in Sta. Cruz as a part of Oplan Sita. The police authorities apprehended a motorcycle rider and asked for documents.
Unfortunately, the suspects run away and tried to escape from the police officers at the checkpoint. The cops chased the suspects and were able to arrest them. The authorities discovered the suspects stole the motorcycle.
The police officers discovered that the suspects have no license and no plate number. The cops also recovered a .38 caliber and a picklock, which have been used by the suspects to carnap motorcycles across Caloocan, Navotas, Malabon, and Manila.
MPD Station 3 station commander Police Lt. Col. John Guiagui said that CCTV footage in Barangay 82, Zone Tondo caught the two performing their illegal activities last May 6. The suspects also stole another motorcycle in Barangay 403, Sampaloc last May 13.
The 19-year-old and 22-year-old suspects admitted their crimes. The two revealed that they were stealing one to two motorcycles per week to earn money. The motorcycle parts will be dismantled and sold individually.
MPA will conduct a follow-up operation to locate the middle man and the shop responsible for selling the dismantled auto parts.
