PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Agaton to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Agaton will affect the country’s weather condition.
On Saturday (April 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomicl Services Administration released the latest weather update. Tropical Depression Agaton will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Agaton has been last spotted at 130 kilometers east southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
Agaton expected to bring rains with gusty winds over Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Siargao Island, and Bucas Grande Island. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been raised over Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Siargao, and Bucas Grande Islands.
Agaton remain almost stationary and slowly moves over the waters east of Eastern Visayas but it may interact with another tropical cyclone named “Malakas” next week.
“Due to the expected erratic nature of its movement, a landfall over the coast of Eastern Samar is possible. However, the tropical depression may begin turning generally eastward on Monday or Tuesday as it interacts with the incoming tropical cyclone with international name ‘Malakas,” the weather agency said.
Malakas has been last spotted at 2,015 kilometers east of Mindanao. It has maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kph moving 15 kph at a west northwestward direction.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.
The northeasterly surface windflow will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Norte. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during moderate to at times heavy rains.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
