TONI GONZAGA – Film director Erik Matti did not mince words when he called out Toni Gonzaga in his post amid the issues.
Kapamilya multimedia star Toni Gonzaga was put under hot waters and for a couple of days, did not leave the top spot in the trending list. This happened when she hosted the proclamation rally of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte on February 8, which was held at the Philippine Arena. Her husband Paul Soriano was the director of the said event.
She previously shared an “unbothered” post of one of her supporters and this has caught the attention of many people including film director Erik Matti. In an Instagram post, Matti shared a piece of history comparing what happened during the time of Hitler and Marcos as all part of the history – which are both truths and cannot be refuted.
He talked about the victims of the Holocaust and Martial being real people with names and families. Matti then added how “incomprehensible” it is to have all the resources available to read up about history yet still have the “gall to hold their head so high to the point of being so arrogant and obnoxious to brush away critics and dissenters even acknowledging and flaunting it with such an insensitive hashtag”.
“You can do whatever you want with your celebrity power and God’s guidance because this is a free world, after all. But to be brazen, arrogant, and snooty makes all of it despicable, disgusting, and really crude,” a part of his post stated.
In the comment section, Quark Henares agreed to the statement of the veteran movie director and expressed his disbelief about how she was unhesitant when she introduced Marcoleta to the public. Just like many people, Henares felt bad about the part where she supported the very person that closed down the network that built her. He wrote, “Hindi lang impunity and apathy eh. Opportunista talaga.”
