Recently, it appeared that the Cebu-based businessman has officially confirmed it after responding to a comment asking what happened to them.
He broke his silence in the comments section of an Instagram post he dedicated to his longtime on-and-off girlfriend, American content creator and fashion advisor Jolie Jurkovich.
After one follower asked, “What happened to u and @chiefilomeno,” Matthew offered a brief but telling response: “Life happened.”
For the first time, Matthew has acknowledged that his rumored relationship with Chie is over, following months of speculation after their romance made headlines last year.
Meanwhile, in his post, he shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to Jolie, whom he affectionately called his “beautiful partner in crime.” Reflecting on their five-year journey together, he admitted that their relationship had not always been easy, revealing that they went through several breakups before eventually finding their way back to each other.
He also acknowledged the ups and downs that tested their relationship.
“We’ve had breakups, make ups, and whatever the hell else is in between those two. But one thing that’s for sure is I have always been crazy about you. We’ve always been the best of friends even when both of our lives seemed to be growing apart. Most importantly we always seemed to end up back in each others arms,” he said.
