Rumor has it that business tycoons will buy ABS-CBN
Businessman Ramon S. Ang was one of the surprise guests at Manny V. Pangilinan’s birthday celebration on the TV5 program Vibe+ last Saturday, and this created speculation that they are teaming up for an ABS-CBN takeover.
The Kapamilya network lost its franchise in 2020. That challenging time for the company happened alongside the pandemic.
Eventually, the media company became a content provider to various online platforms and has already collaborated with rival networks such as GMA and TV5.

Based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, with the recent event showing that Ramon Ang and MVP were together, it further fueled speculation regarding the highly anticipated partnership between the two.
They neither confirmed nor denied the rumors that they intend to acquire ABS-CBN. They simply laughed when they were asked about it. The businessmen pressed if they were indeed forging a major partnership involving the TV network; Manny Pangilinan replied to this with, “Ewan ko.”
Then, MVP said that Ramon Ang should be asked about this. However, the latter simply stated that he was genuinely interested in collaborating with MVP.

There is still much to look forward to from TV5, especially regarding their upcoming collaborations involving ABS-CBN Studios content.
Mr. Guido Zaballero, the President and CEO of TV5 Network, was also present during the event. He said that he had no comment regarding Mr. Ramon Ang’s arrival at Vibe+. “Kasi siyempre, birthday celebration ni MVP ‘to,” Mr. Guido said.
The only updates he could share with the public concerned timeslot changes and TV5 programs that will also be available for viewing on the Kapamilya Channel, as well as on AllTV and A2Z.
Actually, malapit na rin that we’re going to have some shows on ABS-CBN also sa hapon,” Guido shared.
