LUCY TORRES – Actress-turned-politician Lucy Torres recalled her struggles when her husband Richard Gomez contracted coronavirus.
The coronavirus has taken a lot of lives already after over one year it took over and spread worldwide. It started as a mysterious disease and in early 2020, it was given a name, COVID-19. The early months of 2020 were miserable. Total lockdowns happened and restrictions were implemented. Minimum health standard is required anywhere.
Several companies have already created vaccines to protect people from the virus but as time passes by, it mutates. There were already numerous variants in the corner and the threat is just anywhere. No one is spared from getting infected and among the celebrities who tested positive for the coronavirus was Richard Gomez.
Lucy Torres, his wife, has had some realizations during that time and that is to guard the mental and emotional health. More than the physical battle, it’s also important to take of one’s peace and don’t panic. She believes that each positive case is an individual journey. They just can’t compare their case to others because they will never be the same.
Factors like the symptoms and how bad the infection affects a person are varied. She added, “It’s overwhelming as it’s not like the regular flu since it can go in so many ways, so you take it one day at a time.”
But amid the struggle, what she is just thankful about her husband is that he is full of energy. It also happened that it’s the time of the Olympics and it’s what has been catching her husband’s attention and making him behave. It distracted him and if not for the Olympics, she could have handcuffed him for him to stay still in a corner.
