New COVID-19 Death Case Is 6-Day-Old Baby Delivered in Davao del Norte
6-DAY-OLD BABY – A baby boy who was born six days ago in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte by a 16-year-old mother died of COVID-19.
The COVID-19 is the biggest problem that most nations and territories across the globe are facing now. It has shaken several healthcare systems and has cost a lot of lives already. The pandemic also brought a lot of changes to countries.
In PH, the protocols in the fight against the spread of the disease include the wearing of face mask and the practice of social distancing. Several establishments also require face shields upon entry.
The World Health Organization (WHO) previously warned that countries must not put their guards down early to prevent a 2nd wave of the pandemic. Even WHO was alarmed by how quick the disease has spread.
COVID-19 exempts no one. The senior citizens and those who have compromised immunity are known to be more susceptible to the virus but several cases showed that both young and old can contract the disease.

Sadly, several babies have contracted COVID-19 since the pandemic began and some of them died. Recently, a 6-day-old baby boy in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte died of coronavirus.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the said 6-day-old baby boy who died of COVID-19 in Davao del Norte was delivered in a birthing clinic by a 16-year-old mother who is the 177th confirmed case of the disease in the town. She’s from Barangay New Katipunan.
Currently, Santo Tomas has 180 confirmed cases of COVID-19. The local government has already facilitated the burial of the baby boy.
