Police Traced the Source of Cheap Pillows that Filled with Used Facemasks

Police officers have traced the source of cheap pillows peddled in Biñan, Laguna that contains filthy used facemasks amid the virus threat.

According to the report of GMA News, the shop was almost just across the barangay hall of Barangay Sto. Domingo. However, the shop caretaker Nathaniel Geolisan, said that the dangerous pillows came from his brother-in-law Orlando Pagal.

Pagal has not yet to be seen for already two days. Seven individuals have complained about the pillows, saying that some have been sent to the province.

“Sinasabi po niya nanggaling po ‘yung mga unan na ‘yon sa kaniyang bayaw. Nag-deny po siya na sila po ang nag-produce ng mga unan na ‘yon,” Biñan City chief of police Police Lieutenant Colonel Vanni Martinez said.

“’Yun po ang for two days nang nawawala. Pati ‘yung po sa bahay niya sa Canlalay wala rin po ‘yung tao,” he added as regards Pagal.

Police Traced Cheap Pillows

Previously, videos and photos of filthy and dangerous cheap pillow business. Many have been persuaded to buy pillows sold by the retailer who has been roaming the houses because of its cheap price.

However, customers later discovered that the contents were not cotton or foam, but used face masks. The cheap pillow sold for P50 brought fears to the resident in the city.

Aside from the possible infection of COVID-19 if those masks were used by carriers, the face masks are considered hazardous waste and must be disposed properly due to the chemical and hazardous ingredients.
