Tacloban City Confirms 2 New Cases of COVID-19

TACLOBAN – The city recorded two (2) new cases of coronavirus or COVID-19 after two (2) months of being COVID-free.

The coronavirus or COVID-19 has greatly affected over 200 nations and territories across the globe. One of these nations is the Philippines.

In the country, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 23,732 cases of the disease. Out of the total, 4,895 patients have already recovered while 1,027 died of the said disease.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the pandemic may took years and countries must not be complacent. There may be 2nd or 3rd wave of the disease if a country would easily put its guards down.

In the Philippines, the entire nation is under a community quarantine now. The high risk areas are implementing a Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). Most parts of the country are under a GCQ now.

Several cities continue to record cases of the disease thus everyone is still advised to stay at home if not for very essential purposes. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Tacloban City which is COVID-free for two (2) months recently confirmed two (2) new cases of the disease.

According to the report, one (1) of the patients is a female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). All repatriates are quarantined in a facility and goes through a COVID-19 testing if needed.

The other coronavirus patient is a former locally stranded individual (LSI) in Metro Manila. The government assured the people that they are doing everything they can for the safety of the people.
