Vico Sotto was asked about his opponent in the 2025 elections
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto had this reaction to the revelation of his opponent Sarah Discaya that she is a first-time voter.
For his third term, Mayor Vico was opposed by a wealthy businesswoman whose husband filed a disqualification case against him. Some other issues were also raised by Discaya’s camp during the campaign period.
During election day, media people covered Discaya’s arrival at the precinct to vote. Then, she was interviewed for a bit in which she mentioned that it was her first time to vote and this made her excited.
It was obvious that the reporters were surprised by what she said. When asked why it was her first to vote this year, Discaya said that she had a hard time registering.
This garnered negative comments from the online community and they criticized her while some had their funny reactions to this. In a recent interview on ABS-CBN News Channel’s Headstart, journalist Karen Davila asked Mayor Vico Sotto if he was surprised by Discaya’s revelation.
The Mayor admitted that he was surprised but he did not further give a comment regarding this. “Pati buong Pilipinas nagulat,” Karen Davila said and Mayor Vico responded, “Totoo po.”
“Hindi na para mag-comment ako kasi marami nang nasab ang mga tao, but yes to answer your question,” Mayor Vico Sotto said.
Meanwhile, the Mayor is always ready to answer questions, especially when it comes to his responsibility as a public servant and the programs he is implementing. However, when it comes to his love life, he would have reserved answers. Just recently, he was asked about this and he stressed that his priority is his job.
