VP Leni Robredo’s Office To Give Free Shuttle Services For Health Workers
ROBREDO – The office of Vice President Leni Robredo will provide free shuttle services for health workers.
On Monday, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed Luzon under “enhanced community quarantine” amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) threat. Department of Health (DOH) recorded 142 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 12 deaths. To date, 3 patients have recovered from the disease.
The quarantine for Luzon is effective midnight of March 17 until midnight of April 13. It means “strict home quarantine shall be implemented in all households; transportation shall be suspended; provision for food and essential services shall be regulated; and heightened presence of uniformed personnel to enforce quarantine procedures will be implemented.”
Following a previous article, the office of Vice President Leni Robredo said they have collected P17.3 million to purchase personal protective equipment for the health workers in the country.
The protective gears were delivered to eight hospital sin Quezon City and Metro Manila. She said they will give more equipment including surgical gowns and masks.
On Tuesday, March 17, Leni Robredo’s office Tweeted saying they will start giving free rides on Wednesday, March 18 for the health workers and other frontliners in Luzon.
“Starting tomorrow, the Office of VP Leni Robredo will provide free shuttle services for health workers and other frontliners. Routes, schedule, and other details to be announced later,” it wrote.
