ITS SHOWTIME – Kapamilya noontime show Its Showtime bids goodbye for a while after ABS-CBN announced temporary suspension of live airing.
For 10 years, Kapamilya noontime show Its Showtime have been airing live almost everyday. However, with the threats brought about by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) which already affected numerous people from various parts of the country, the show and their network got affected.
After the pronouncement of President Rodrigo Duterte for the country be put in state of public health emergency, the network immediately banned admission of live studio audience, as per a previous article. And now, as calendar hits March 15, Metro Manila will be placed in a community quarantine. As a precautionary measure, the network released official statement announcing temporary suspension of live airing of their shows and tapings.
With this, on March 14, Showtime hosts bid goodbye to the public as they aired their last airing FOR NOW due to the public health crisis the country and the whole world is facing.
Here’s the post of the program:
“Maraming Salamat, Madlang People sa pagsama sa buong staff, crew, and artists para sa mahalagang pag-anunsyo at pag-alay ng dasal para sa ating lahat. Makakaasa po kayo na tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang kasiyahan tuwing tanghali dito lang sa Showtime!”
This move of the network is for the safety of everyone coming from artists, crew, production teams, their families, and the general public. The community quarantine is also to contain the spread of virus as it has now infected over 60 persons and killed 8.
