Construction Worker Injured After Involved in Accident at SEA Games Venue

SEA GAMES 2019 – A certain construction worker suffered some wounds and injuries after involved in an accident at one of the SEA Games venues.

On Tuesday (November 26, 2019), Manila police public information officer Col. Carlo Manuel reported that a 46-year-old construction employee was injured in an accident at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The victim identified as Richard Delos Santos is dismantling scaffolding when he accidentally lost his balance and fell on the ground due to heavy downpour. Santos sustained injuries and was rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila.

Santos said that there were no further details and information regarding the incident and about the height in which the victim fell.

Earlier, the foreign press reported the woeful preparations for the 30th Southeast Asian Games including the renovation of the Rizal Memorial Stadium that authorities are scrambling to complete before the opening of the event on Saturday (November 30, 2019).

Meanwhile, the poor accommodation service given to foreign athletes such as unfinished venues, waiting for room reservations, transportation to the airport, and inadequate foods garnered various reactions online.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo has also apologized for the unintentional inconvenience suffered by the foreign athletes.
