Based on a report on Pep, John Nite expressed that he did not know about it until he had to go to the bathroom to urinate.

“I was there practically 7 o’clock A.M. I was on the stage from 8 A.M. to 3 P.M… Hindi ko naramdaman yung commotion sa backstage,” he said.

Furthermore, according to John, the Ynares was so big and when he knew it, he did not expect the extent of the food poisoning incident.

According to the report, John Nite stressed that it was a surprise birthday party for former First Lady Imelda Marcos. He revealed that there was a sponsor and, originally, the Marcos loyalists are the one putting it up.

Meanwhile, according to the host, it was a successful event despite of what happened. He also lauded the abrupt actions of the Pasig City government and as well as the Red Cross in rescuing the patients.

John further added that the children of the former First Lady provided all the support they can for the patients. As for him, there was no one to blame and it is just that the food preparation should be “properly done”.
