Bianca Gonzalez reminded the public about the “ghost projects”
Kapamilya TV host Bianca Gonzalez once again expressed her frustration over alleged corruption in flood control projects, coinciding with the onset of renewed rains and typhoons in the country.
Bianca is one of the prominent television hosts, media personalities, writers, and social advocates in the Philippines. She entered the house of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 1 as a contestant, finishing as the 3rd Big Placer and from that, she found her spot in the entertainment industry as a host.
Over the years, she co-hosted various editions of the reality show, Bianca took over as the lead main host of Pinoy Big Brother in 2022. She also has her podcast and YouTube vlogs.
Aside from being a prominent TV host, she is also known for being vocal about her views regarding politics, social issues, and women empowerment.
In a recent social media post, based on the article in Balita, Bianca once again reminded her fellow Filipinos to be aware of the country’s situation.
In a Facebook post on Friday, August 7, Bianca Gonzalez stated that the public might once again witness the consequences of questionable flood control projects as communities continue to experience flooding.
She noted that those most affected by this situation are ordinary citizens who strive to work every day to provide for their families.
“Nagsimula na naman ang pag-ulan at pagdating ng sunud-sunod na bagyo, magkakaalaman na naman ng mga lugar na ghost project lang ang milyones na flood control budget, at ang pinaka-mapeperwisyo na naman ay ang mga mamamayang ang nais lang sa araw-araw ay magtrabaho ng maayos at masuportahan ang pamilya,” Bianca Gonzalez stressed.
Because of this, Bianca urged the public not to forget the allegations of corruption and to be discerning in choosing the candidates they support in the election.
This is not the first time Bianca has spoken out about the controversy surrounding flood control projects. She is among the celebrities who have voiced their frustration regarding corruption in the country and the squandering of public funds, stating that the billions of pesos in funding would have been better spent on efficient public transportation rather than on so-called “ghost flood control projects.”
She had previously called for accountability from those involved in the alleged misappropriation of funds and urged that the public’s money be recovered, if possible.
The issue of so-called “ghost projects” has been at the center of investigations and reports concerning flood control spending. Previous reports revealed that some officials admitted to the existence of projects that allegedly did not actually exist or were never implemented.
