Dennis Trillo talked about his career and dream project
Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo renewed his contract with GMA-7 on August 4, 2026, celebrating 20 years with the network.
He chose to stay because of the deep trust GMA has shown him since day one. Moving forward, the Kapuso actor aims to tackle more challenging projects and hopes to collaborate with top stars from outside his home network.
He remembered how his home network gambled on him as a newcomer, trusting him with major projects early in his career.
“Mula noon hanggang ngayon. Nagsisimula pa lang ako, kumbaga, parang nobody pa lang talaga ako noon,” Dennis Trillo shared in an interview, based on the article in PEP.
2 decades later, his home network continue to gamble on him and showed support for his every project. That’s why, to this day, his good relationship with GMA remains strong.
Dennis also expressed his eagerness to dive into new opportunities with the network, particularly highlighting his interest in action-packed projects, which are currently seeing a surge in popularity.
He shared that he is slated to team up again with fellow Kapuso star Ruru Madrid for the upcoming primetime series Hari ng Tondo. They previously worked together in the MMFF movie Green Bones in 2024.
“Actually, ngayon, nauuso yung action. So, etong next kong gagawin, bukod doon sa pelikula na gagawin kong Amir, e, yung serye na gagawin namin ni Ruru, yung Hari ng Tondo. Ayun, excited din, dahil makakatrabaho ko siya ulit dahil siyempre maganda rin yung samahan namin doon sa Green Bones,” he shared.
Amir, the latest film fronted by Dennis Trillo, joins the official roster of the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival.
When Dennis was asked if balancing back-to-back projects feels stressful as one of GMA’s biggest names, he openly admitted that he always feels the pressure.
“Dahil feeling ko, isa na rin ako sa pinakamatagal dito sa GMA, at maraming mga baguhan, maraming mga bata na, alam mo yun, mas promising at mas may future talaga,” the actor shared.
Dennis also shared his aspiration to collaborate on meaningful projects with actors he admires. Outside of GMA-7, his dream co-stars include Coco Martin, John Lloyd Cruz, and Piolo Pascual, who are considered Kapamilya stars, except JLC who eventually transferred to GMA and did several projects as a Kapuso.
“Outside of GMA, siguro maganda ring makatrabaho si Coco Martin. Noon ko pa siya gustong makatrabaho. Sina John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual, ayan yung mga pinapangarap kong makatrabaho. Alam kong magkikita at magkikita rin kami sa isang proyekto,” Dennis Trillo enthused.
